The 2011–12 season of the Eredivisie
is the fifth season of the Netherland's women's football top level league. Reigning champions are Twente
.
After the previous season initially three teams announced not to return to the Eredivisie for another season. The clubs are AZ, Willem II
and FC Utrecht, they will stop due to financial reasons. Utrecht later changed the decision and will remain one of the Eredivisie teams in 2011/12. On 27 May 2011 it was announced that Telstar joins the league. So the season will consist of seven clubs.
Before the season the BeNe Super Cup
was played, in that the Dutch champion Twente met Belgian champion Standard Liège. Twente lost the match 4–1. In sight of the cup a memorandum was signed by the Dutch and Belgian Football association to create a intercountry top-level league to start as early as 2012–13.

Format
The seven teams play each other three times. Once away, once home and a third leg either away or home determined on a lottery-system before the season. The champion will qualify to the UEFA Women's Champions League. There still will be no relegation system in place.Teams
