2014 Gay Games

According to the FGG, fourteen cities expressed interest in hosting the 2014 Gay Games (Gay Games IX). During its annual meeting in Cape Town

 on 28 October 2008, the FGG announced that four cities made the deadline and were thus in the running to host the games: Boston

, Cleveland, Miami, and Washington, DC. Of these cities, Boston, Cleveland, and Washington, DC submitted bid books by the deadline. Given that all three finalist cities are in the US, the Gay Games will be returning to the United States in 2014. The FGG selected Cleveland as the host city in September 2009 during its annual meeting in Cologne, Germany.

Events

The event will feature 30 sports, and community and cultural events throughout the Cleveland and Akron areas.
