Operational history

Performed antisubmarine patrols, 28 May-August 1943. Squadron inactivated after USAAF turned antisubmarine mission over to the United States Navy.

Aircraft turned over to Navy upon inactivation for use in maritime reconnaissance and antisubmarine warfare. B-25s were assigned the designations PBJ-1C and PBJ-1D respectively.
