Basic rules
- Only half the basketball court is used for the game.
- Each team consists of 3 players and 1 substitute.
- Game time: 3 5-minute periods. The game also ends if a team scores 33 points or more before time expires.
- Team must attempt a shot for goal in 14 seconds.
- Ball must be taken out of the 3-point line and touched by 2 teammates (ball receiver/dribbler and 1 other teammate) before a shot can be attempted.
- As of 2010, the current FIBA 33 ruleset is slightly different from what was used in this competition. The game now consists of two 5-minute periods (with 2-minute overtimes if necessary), and the shot clock is now 10 seconds.
