History

in the northeast during 1942 and 1943. Reassigned to become an operational and later replacement training unit, preparing pilots for combat duty in P-47's.
Inactivated after the war, was reactivated in 1955 as an Air Defense Command operational air defense unit at Paine AFB, Washington. Absorbed personnel and equipment of 529th Air Defense Group and was equipped with F-86D Sabres, becoming the host unit at Paine. Inactivated in April 1961 due to ADC reorganization and inactivation of the Western Air Defense Force
