63rd Street Shuttle

The 63rd Street Shuttle was a name given to three shuttle trains that served the IND 63rd Street Line
on the New York City Subway
during various times from 1997 to 2001.
during late nights. This service was suspended in February 1998 when construction required suspension of service on the 63rd Street Line from the Sixth Avenue Line, but resumed in May 1999 when the construction was completed. It was discontinued in 2000 when preparation for full time service on the IND 63rd Street Connector began.
and was one of the very few regularly scheduled services that have used the BMT 63rd Street Line

Service began on February 22, 1998, running between 21st Street – Queensbridge and 57th Street – Seventh Avenue on the BMT Broadway Line
. On April 6, it was extended to 34th Street – Herald Square on weekdays, skipping 49th Street
. This replaced and trains that had used the IND 63rd Street Line
; they were truncated to 57th Street – Sixth Avenue
(which was closed late nights). Work was completed on May 22, 1999, the shuttle was discontinued, and and trains returned to 21st Street.
