The 850th Anniversary of Moscow Medal was a medal in Russia. It was established by Presidential Decree no 132 of February 26, 1997 in commemoration of the 850th anniversary of the first Russian reference to Moscow
, dating to 1147 when Yuri Dolgorukiy called upon the prince of the Novgorod-Severski
to "come to me, brother, to Moscow." On 7 September 2010 it was stated to no longer be a state award of the Russian Federation and disestablished.
It was awarded to participants in the defence of Moscow who had been awarded the Medal for the Defence of Moscow
, those who had previously been given state awards for work in Moscow during the Second World War, citizens who had already been awarded the 800th Anniversary of Moscow Medal
