The AAA Beach District is one of the four districts of the AAA Eastern Region
of the Virginia High School League
. The schools in the Beach District compete with the schools in the AAA Eastern District

. AAA is the largest enrollment class in the Virginia High School League and also typically the most competitive level as well.
and by forcing some of its smallest members in their region drop to Group AA, as 14 of its 32 members are AA size. However, these plans have not materialized and the Beach District will remain intact at least until 2011.

Facts about the District
The Beach District is comprised solely of all 11 public high schools in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools System. It is also the largest district in terms of membership in the Virginia High School League. As a result in some sports, there are no nondistrict games, in particular for football, where there are only 10 games in the regular season. There has been some discussion recently in the VHSL in trying to split the district in half in some form, possibly by moving the Peninsula District to the AAA Central RegionAAA Central Region
