History

The station was founded, designed and constructed by Mr. Allieu M. Shaw who is a native of Sierra Leone. The station is a free-to-air broadcast station, which can be received on UHF Channel 22 at 479 MHz. Anyone with a television set within the coverage area can receive the broadcast signals free-of-charge. The Western Area including the capital Freetown, Port Loko, Kambia, Lunsar and some areas of Makeni are covered by the broadcast signals. The station plans a nationwide expansion coverage to include Bo, Bonthe, Kailahun, Pujehun, Kenema, Kono, Makeni, and Kabala. The station broadcasts news and entertainment programs, cultural and education programs, sports and youth programs, health, movies, drama, religion, and live broadcasts. The station employs over thirty personnel including reporters, engineers, technicians, cameraman, news editors, video and audio editors. The primary objectives of the station is to bridge the gap between the government and the people of Sierra Leone; to educate the people of Sierra Leone of their rights and freedoms under the constitution; and to promote social service programs that will benefit female youths and reduce school dropouts and early teenage pregnancy.
