ACME (Space)

ACME was established in 2007 in London. The practice operates in the fields of contemporary architecture, urban planning, interior and product design working with private, corporate and public clients.
Since 2007, ACME has received numerous awards, most noticeably winning international competitions such as the John Lewis (department store)
in Leeds 2007, the Kaufhof Department Store in Duisburg 2008, the Royal Institute of Human Development in Bahrain
2009. The practice has completed its first UK building in 2009, Hunsett Mill
in Norfolk
, which received a number of awards including the RIBA

The practice has evolved and expanded its project portfolio and international reach, operating not just in the UK but also in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Current projects running in the office includes masterplans, residential, retail, offices, educational, transport, and power stations in countries such as UK, Russia, Romania, Bahrain, Syria, Lebanon and the UAE.
Apart from its preoccupation with Space, ACME has a number of interests and areas of experimentation, mainly ACME Fiori, ACME Light and ACME Paper, each area addressing subjects of short or long-term interest of the office.
, with Stefano Dal Piva joining in Summer 2007 and Kelvin Chu joining in Spring 2008. The practice has grown steadily to its current size of over 20 architects with 14 nationalities.
Manser Medal 2010 for the best one-off house in the United Kingdom.
The house has also been shortlisted for the “Structural Awards 2009“ by the Institution of Structural Engineers
and the “Sustainability Awards 2009" as one of the five most sustainable projects with a budget under £2 million by the UK Green Building Council
and Building Magazine.
