The main service offered by the academy is its internationally recognized Master of Advanced Studies in Sport Administration and Technology (MSA); a one year postgraduate master’s programme training future sport executives.

In addition, continuing education seminars for sports management worldwide are organized under the lead of the academy including the “Sport Management Seminar for Women”, the “Sport Event Management and Organisation Seminar” (SEMOS), and the “Sustainable Sport and Event Toolkit Seminar”.

Through independent and mandated research projects, the academy, together with its founding members, retains and builds state of the art knowledge in all aspects of sport management.

History

AISTS was founded in 2000 by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), IMD Business School, the University of Lausanne, the University of Geneva, the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP), Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), the City of Lausanne, and the Canton of Vaud.
An AIST is located in Lausanne, Switzerland, on the campus of Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).

Sports management programmes

AISTS is the official Academic Partner of two international sports federations, European Athletics and the International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (UIAA).

ASITS has support of the International Olympic Committee for sports management worldwide, and has strong links to the worldwide Olympic Movement.
AISTS applies a multidisciplinary approach to sports management graduate programs, continuing professional education, and applied research in sport.

Sports management educational programmes

AISTS provides sports management graduate programs in two areas: Executive MBA in Sports Administration and Technology, and Master of Advanced Studies in Sport Administration and Technology (MSA)

MBA sports management

The AISTS Executive MBA in Sport Administration and Technology is a sports management program designed to give executives in the sports industry the tools to master sports management worldwide.

The sports management program covers a wide variety of sports, even sports outside of its sponsors' scope, such as sports outside of the 20 to 30 sports of the International Olympic Committee. One AISTS sports management program covers the business around Formula 1  F1 racing sports management.

Master of Advanced Studies in Sport Administration and Technology (MSA)

The AISTS MSA (Master of Advanced Studies) in Sports Administration and Technology is a unique worldwide sports management graduate program in sports management. Training is offered in fields applied directly to sport, such as Sports Management & Economics, Technology, Law, Sociology, and sports Medicine. A multidisciplinary masters degree co-signed by the Swiss Federal Polytechnical Institute of Lausanne (EPFL), the University of Geneva, the University of Lausanne and the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP).
