At first, Goren and Bishop turn their attention to the victim's husband, but they ultimately determine the wounds were self-inflicted. As the detectives search for reasons for Lena's suicide, they discover that her injuries may be linked to a string of ethnically-motivated killings. The investigation leads Goren and Bishop to delve into the family's tragic history.
