province of Zeeland
. It is a part of the municipality of Veere
, and lies about 9 km (6 mi) northwest of Middelburg
.
In 2001, the town of Aagtekerke had 936 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.22 km² (0.0849424748903577 sq mi), and contained 296 residences.
The statistical area "Aagtekerke", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1480.
Until July 1, 1966, Aagtekerke was a separate municipality. On that date, it merged into the municipality of Mariekerke.
