Abdul Karim Brahui is a politician

. He is the current Governor of Nimroz Province and has served previously as a minister in the Cabinet of Afghanistan. From February 2009 to August 2010, Brahui served as the Minister of Refugees. In 2004, Brahui was appointed Minister of Borders and Tribal Affairs

During the 1980s he was a leader of the mujahideen

toppled the Taliban in late 2001, Brahui was again appointed as the Governor of Nimroz and Commander of 4th Brigade.
In early 2011, Brahui has escaped unhurt in a remote-controlled bomb explosion. He and the board of directors of that Nimroz visited an irrigation work in Lashkari canal when his vehicle was hit with a remote control mine in the 2nd district of Zaranj
, near the Darul Ulam Madrasa (Islamic school) in the city.
