Abdullah Muhammad Rashid al-Rashoud was a member of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula
and its so-called sharia committee, and, briefly, a member of al-Qaeda in Iraq
. He was one of Saudi Arabia's most wanted fugitives when he was killed in Iraq in May or June 2005. His status in al-Qaeda
is attested to by the fact that his death was announced (in an Internet statement on 23 June 2005) by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi
personally. In the jihadist Internet subculture, al-Rashoud himself was widely known for his own videos. He got and still gets high billing at the Tawhed Sunni terrorist webset (which was named for Zarqawi's group under its original name Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad) operated by the organization of Zarqawi's former mentor Maqdisi

Zarqawi claimed that al-Rashoud died in American aerial bombing in Qa'im
, Iraq (near Syria) around 21 June 2005, but it is possible that he was killed a month earlier in the Battle of Al Qaim, or even killed by someone in al-Qaeda. From his videos it is apparent that he was rather unstable.
