The Evening Express is a daily local evening newspaper which was first published in November 1879.
The Evening Express reaches a region of great industry and prosperity. Covering the whole of Aberdeenshire, the title has Aberdeen at its heart. The city was recently described as being one of the world’s top places to live for quality of life and is also the Energy Capital of Europe. The Evening Express plays a vital role to the people of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. More adults in the north east of Scotland turn to the Evening Express to keep in touch with what’s going on in the region than any other media. With a readership of 181,000 adults every week, the Evening Express reaches 58% of the total population of a key region.*
The potential of the area has been recognised recently with several retail developments built including the £250 million Union Square shopping centre and the £271 million world class golf and leisure facility being constructed by Donald Trump on the outskirts of the city. The oil and gas industry has led to great wealth for the region with annual earnings in the City 25% higher than the Scottish average.
