Acid Black Cherry is Janne Da Arc
vocalist Yasu's solo project, formed in 2007 when they went on hiatus. The band's name is often seen shortened to A.B.C..
Singles Charts. ABC's second single, entitled "Black Cherry", was released on September 26, 2007, and was followed by a third single on November 28, 2007, "Aishitenai". His fourth single, "Fuyu no Maboroshi", was released on January 16, 2008 to the number one spot on the Oricon Singles chart. Acid Black Cherry's first album, Black List, was released on February 20, 2008. Additional guest artists appeared on this album, notably Daita and Jun-ji (ex-members of Siam Shade
) on guitar and drums respectively. Jun-ji is also a consistent member of Acid Black Cherry for touring and events. On August 27, 2008, Acid Black Cherry released his fifth single, "20+∞ Century Boys". On November 2008, he released their sixth single, "Jigsaw", based in small part on the American horror movie Saw
, of which Yasu is a fan. The song reached third place on Japan's Top 50 songs. On February 18, 2009, Acid Black Cherry released his seventh single, "Nemuri Hime". On July 29, 2009, Acid Black Cherry released his eighth single, "Yasashii Uso". On August 26, 2009, he released his second album Q.E.D. A story about the album was published on the official site ahead of its release, describing a murder case and the search for its culprit. On August 16, 2010, the single "Re: Birth:" was released, it was used as the opening theme of the game Another Century's Episode: R. He released his tenth single, "Shoujo no Inori III" on June 8, 2011. In September 2011, Acid Black Cherry started his consecutive single release schedule where he released one single per month for five consecutive months; "Pistol" (September), "Shangri-La" (October), "Chou" (November), "CRISIS" (December) and another still unannounced single in January. The eleventh single, "Pistol" was released on September 21, 2011. The twelve single, "Shangri-La" was released on October 19, 2011. The thirteenth single, "Chou" will be released on November 16, 2011 and the fourteenth single, "CRISIS" will be released on December 21, 2011.
