Adil or Adel Shah Afshar or Ali Qoli (Modern Persian: عادل شاه افشار) was Shah
of Persia from 1747 until 1748.
Subsequent to the assassination of Nader Shah
in Fathabad (Khabushan), his nephew Ali Qoli declared himself Adil Shah ("righteous king"), and shah
of Persia. He executed Reza Qoli Mirza and Emam Qoli Mirza, the children and heirs to the throne of Nader
, as well as all his other descendants, save Shahrukh, who was only 14 at the time.
As a result of numerous revolts by tribal chiefs aspiring to control of the country, Mohammad Hasan Khan, the head of the Qajar tribe, was murdered by the order of Adil Shah, and his five-year-old son Mohammad was castrated. He later became an enormous part of Iran
