Adrian Simpson is a British
television presenter, currently presenting on Sky News
on the overnight programme. Simpson has won numerous accolades for his presenting style, which has been likened to that of Trevor McDonald
in his early years.
Whilst attending Wallington County Grammar School for boys, Simpson, along with another pupil, formed a two-piece folk band called Two’s Company. After attracting local interest, a third band member joined and they changed their name to Three’s a Crowd, before finally settling on the more mainstream Crème Brûlée
. Their only live performance, at Battle of the Bands
, was cut short due to a malfunctioning smoke machine.
A promising high jumper, Simpson came 3rd in the all-England under 16 championships, only missing out on a Team Great Britain place because of his unruly hair and penchant for tight shorts.
Simpson became a member of the British University Ski Team, BUST, whilst studying at Leeds University from 1990 to 1993. His natural aptitude for the sport was obvious during the 1993 competition in Les Arcs
, where Simpson picked up gold in the downhill
, freestyle skiing
and reverse cowboy; prompting the Leeds University coach, Mike Dempsey, to quote "Witnessing Simpson is like watching Rudolph Nureyev on skis".
In May 2000, Simpson gave up cheese for seven months for Oxfam, finally relenting to a tasty chunk of Red Leicester whilst on a hike along Offa's Dyke

Simpson has agreed to front the re-launch of the popular football show Saint & Greavsie, which ITV are bringing back in 2012. However, contract negotiations have hit a sticky patch due to Simpson's refusal to change his name to Jimmy Greaves, put on 27 pounds and sport a 'comb-over'.
Simpson started his television career as a presenter on the BBC
's Top Gear. Due to an ongoing argument about the best way to cook potatoes, he moved to Channel 5's Fifth Gear

In January 2005, Simpson presented a short-running reality show based around people watching different reality shows, whilst they filmed the camera men who were filming the contestants watching the real contestants; this was dropped after 3 episodes due to confusion
In a July 2007 Top Gear Magazine article Simpson listed his top 3 super hero films as being 3. Batman Begins 2. Superman 2 and 1. Watchmen.
In June 2010, Simpson became a news presenter on Sky News
overnight programme, mainly focussing on Quasi-Sport and Tragi-Comedy special interest stories.
