Contemporary status

As of Spring, 2010, the town was unincorporated with a part-time government staff only. Its gradeschool and high school may no longer be operational, although a mailing address still exists.
It has no market, but does have a service station with garage services, a U.S. Post Office, and a fully equipped volunteer fire department. It also is the site for a grain elevator, a livestock shelter dealer, a public golf course, and a motel-lodge, and a private golf course which has been rated 85th nationally by Golf Magazine
