The municipality was part of the Orbe District until it was dissolved on 31 August 2006, and Agiez became part of the new district of Jura-Nord Vaudois.

Agiez has an area, , of 5.5 square kilometre. Of this area, 3.46 square kilometre or 63.3% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.72 square kilometre or 31.4% is forested.
