Agios Georgios (Corfu), Greece
Overview
The smaller Agios Georgios is located on the south-west coast of the island. It boasts a paved main street, rocky beach and a plethora of hotels and restaurants. The majority of the construction in the area was carried out during the 1970s. The village has a small church, and is visited by the 'blue bus', one of two cross-country bus services that operate on Corfu. South of the village the road turns to a track through olive groves, with no particular destination. The only means of accessing the village is by way of a road to the east which links to the main highway. North of the village the road disappears into the beach.
