Ahvaz derby goes back to the 1990s, when Esteghlal Ahvaz F.C. and Foolad F.C. faced each other in Azadegan League 1997–98. They did not meet again until October 18, 2002, and the derby became a regular fixture until 2010, apart from one season when they didn't face each other.Table
