Airport Tycoon 2 is the sequel to Airport Tycoon in which the player builds and manages an airport. Airport Tycoon 2 adds new features like time to build, and disables custom terminals. The game was released on February 26, 2003 for the PC and is followed by Airport Tycoon 3....

, in which the player builds and manages the biggest airport in the world. Airport Tycoon 3 takes away the time to build, and allows customizing terminals, but not custom terminal sizes. Several runways, prefabricated terminals, control towers, contractors, staff and airlines are available for use during the game.

Due to the negative feedback and issues, an un-official forum community was created to improve the game.
