Akseli Ensio "Axu" Kokkonen (born February 27, 1984 in Oslo
) is a Norwegian ski-jumper
. He was born to Kari and Anneli Kokkonen in Oslo

, and is the younger brother of Elmeri Kokkonen. He had Finnish
nationality and spent most of his childhood in Finland. In 2006 Kokkonen was taken out of the Finnish national team due to an injury and bad performances. He was not allowed to jump in any World Cup competition and just competed in a few Continental and FIS
Cup competitions. The Finnish team refused to take him into the World cup team again, Kokkonen grew tired of this and after much work became a Norwegian citizen. One of the reasons was also that all his friends are in Norway, and his only ties to neighbouring Finland are his parents who live there. He is returning to the World Cup in the 2009-2010 season, now representing Norway.
