During the fall of 2006, Pilon supported a controversial large scale project in the Manoir des Trembles neighbourhood
which drew criticism by locals towards the administration and Pilon. The project consists of a long seven-storey seniors complex that will be built near the area of Boulevard Saint-Raymond and Boulevard de l'Outaouais. Residents mentioned that the quality of life and view will be affected and that trees would be demolished to make way for the building. The project went ahead as planned and is slated for completion in 2008.
