The Alan Davis Band was a rock band composed of Adam Sampieri
(guitar, vocals), Adam Lord (bass guitar, vocals), David Beckmann
(flute, recorder, harmonica, whistles, vocals), and Ryan Senft
(drums, percussion). The band was active from 2001 through 2003.
in the early 2000s. Founding members Adam Sampieri
and Adam Lord were accomplished writers and musicians and had worked together previously in the highly successful Mojo Train. Multi-instrumentalist David Beckmann
had artistic and theatrical roots. Drummer Ryan Senft
was a busy session player in The Triangle of Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill and also performed concurrently with two other prominent Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill bands, Velvet and The Fog.
The group first performed together as cast members in Duke University's production of The Who's Tommy
in 2000. Following the success of that production, the four individuals began discussions about forming a group that would combine the vastly different backgrounds and artistic influences of each member. Due to other musical commitments, it took over a year before the four musicians came together again. Adam Sampieri

joined forces in 2001 under the name "Alan Davis Band". They quickly became "campus rock stars" and were the most prolific musicians at Duke in the early 2000s. They performed numerous benefit concerts, club gigs, and private events. They also united as a theatrical group for Duke University's productions of Godspell
(2002) and Little Shop of Horrors
(2003). The group credited Jesse Belsky with sound and lighting support.
Alan Davis Band recorded a single studio album, "And Begin", in 2003.
The group reunited for its only schedule 2010 performance at the wedding celebration of frontman Sampieri on July 31, 2010.
