from 2004–08, where he was named to the All-Big 12 Conference
2nd Team in both 2007 and 2008. Alex finished school in Sydney at Reddam House in Sydney's Bondi Beach.

. During his first season in Partizan, Marić went from the status of a relatively unknown basketball player to one of Euroleague
star, all thanks to his great games throughout the season.
He was named to the 2009-10 All-Euroleague First Team. With Partizan, he managed to win the national cup trophy (the Radivoj Korac Cup Trophy), as well as the Adriatic Championship.
In the summer of 2010, he was signed by Greek Panathinaikos BC.
