, one of the biggest names in European MMA, having fought a variety of big names in different weight classes and promotions. Early on in the fight Makhonin got stunned by a short powerful hook from Xavier but was able to survive the brief onslaught of strikes, and managed to come on strong himself in the closing moments of the first round. At the start of the second, Makhonin exchanged on the feet until shooting and securing a takedown midway through. From there he was able to get full mount and dish out some brutal ground and pound to force the referee to bring a halt to the bout with just over ten seconds remaining in round two.
