of Victoria, and also served as chairman of government advisory bodies. On 15 May 1946, he was appointed to the Australian Senate
as a Country Party Senator for Victoria, filling the vacancy caused by the death of Labor

as the member for Grant. He left the Assembly in 1952, but returned in 1955 as the Liberal Party
