Alexis Elizabeth Christoforous (b. October 19, 1970) is the New York-based correspondent for CBS MoneyWatch.com

), and CBS Newspath, the 24-hour affiliate news service of CBS News
, since 2005.
Christoforous is also the anchor for the nationally syndicated program "MarketWatch Weekend," which airs exclusively on CBS stations, and is a contributing correspondent for the CBS Evening News weekend editions and the CBS Radio Network.
In addition to her business reporting, Christoforous has conducted many newsmaker interviews, including Ringo Starr, Tony Bennett, Francis Ford Coppola, Garth Brooks, Susan Lucci and Emeril Lagasse.
Christoforous graduated cum laude from New York University with a degree in English and Journalism. She lives in New York City with her husband and three children.
Christoforous covered the stock market bull run of the early 1990s and the subsequent Internet bubble burst of 2000. She reported on the economic impact of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the resignation of New York Stock Exchange CEO Richard Grasso and the wave of Wall Street scandals, including Enron, Worldcom and Martha Stewart.

Early career
