Alikovsky District

Alikovsky District is a district (raion
) of the Chuvash Republic, Russia
. It is located in the central part of the republic and borders with Morgaushsky
and Yadrinsky District
s in the north, Krasnoarmeysky District in the east, Vurnarsky
and Shumerlinsky District
s in the south, and Krasnochetaysky District
in the west. The area of the district is 554.12 square kilometres (213.9 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Alikovo
. District's population: Population of Alikovo accounts for 13.4% of the district's population..
As of the 2002 Census, 98% of the population was Chuvash.
The district was formed on October 1, 1927.
The Chairman of the Assembly of Deputies is V. Kh. Dubinin.
