The ESB GAA Hurling All-Ireland Minor Championship 2010 is the 80th staging of Ireland
's hurling
knock-out competition
for players under the age of eighteen. The final will be held at Croke Park
, Dublin on 5 September 2010.
Each match will be played as a single leg. If a match is drawn a period of extra time will be played, however, if both sides are still level at the end of extra time a replay will take place.
Second round: (4 matches) The two winners of the first round join six other Leinster teams to make up the second round pairings. Two teams are eliminated at this stage while two of the stronger winners advance to the semi-finals. Two other winning teams and two other losing teams advance to the third round.
Third round: (2 matches) These are two lone matches between four teams from the second round, two winners and two losers. Two teams are eliminated at this stage while the two winners advance to semi-finals.
Semi-finals: (2 matches) The two winners of the two third round games join the two other teams from the second round to make up the semi-final pairings. Two teams are eliminated at this stage while the two winners advance to the final.
Final: (1 match) The winners of the two semi-finals contest the Leinster final. The winners advance to the All-Ireland sei-final while the runners-up advance to the All-Ireland quarter-final.
Quarter-final: (1 match) This is a lone match between two of the three losing teams from the first round. One team is eliminated at this stage while the winners advance to a semi-final play-off.
Semi-final play-off: (1 match) This is a lone match between the winners of the quarter-final and the remaining losing team from the first round. One team is eliminated at this stage while the winners advance to a semi-finals.
Semi-finals: (2 matches) The winners of the semi-final play-off game join the three remaining Munster teams to make up the semi-final pairings. Two teams are eliminated at this stage while the two winners advance to the final.
Final: (1 match) The winners of the two semi-finals contest the Munster final. The winners advance to the All-Ireland sei-final while the runners-up advance to the All-Ireland quarter-final.

Overview
The All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship of 2010 will be run on a provincial basis as usual. It will be a knockout tournament with pairings drawn at random in the respective provinces - there will be no seeds.Each match will be played as a single leg. If a match is drawn a period of extra time will be played, however, if both sides are still level at the end of extra time a replay will take place.
Leinster Championship
First round: (2 matches) These are two lone matches between four of the 'weaker' teams drawn from the province of Leinster. Two teams are eliminated at this stage while the two winners advance to second round.Second round: (4 matches) The two winners of the first round join six other Leinster teams to make up the second round pairings.
