, Lahore but as of 2003 it became officially affiliated with University of Health Sciences.
In 2010, the Principal Javed Akram inaugurated Shaheen Mall, which includes a barber shop, beauty salon, fruit shop, fast food outlet, and general store to facilitate the students.
Each hostel has 112 rooms. Cubes (single person) are allotted for boys and girls from 4th and Final Year and bi-sitter (two persons) from first year's permanent allotment. Each cubical room is more than 12x14 feet, bi-sitter is double and tetra-room is four times in size.
Others affiliations include International Network for Cancer Treatment and Research and SEPLAA Foundation.
Currently no student union is allowed in the college but societies and clubs are allowed. However the very first students union elections were held in 1979 during martial law times. A very dynamic group of elected student leaders worked very hard. First general secretary was Ashraf Chohan. He managed to achieve 3 hostels 4 buses and recongnition of the college in the UK. He was the first FRCS from the college from Royal college of surgeons. He became then an MPA (member of the Punjab assembly). There were only 2 students unions till the time of writing these lines (2011).

History
Founder Prime Minister Mr. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto is the founder of the Allama Iqbal Medical College and he inaugurated the Allama Iqbal Medical College foundation stone on May 2, 1975. It was formerly called Lahore Medical College, located in a portion of small building of the College of Community Medicine at Birdwood Road, Lahore. Allama Iqbal Medical Complex has a campus spread over an area of 105 acre (0.4249203 km²). The campus includes buildings for administration,departments of basic and clinical sciences and a mosque. There are schools for medicine, nursing and physiotherapy. The college has sports facilities including floodlit tennis courts, floodlit cricket stadium, field with tracks and bleachers, segregated gymnasiums and a seasonal outdoor swimming pool.In 2010, the Principal Javed Akram inaugurated Shaheen Mall, which includes a barber shop, beauty salon, fruit shop, fast food outlet, and general store to facilitate the students.
