Allan H. Kittleman has been a member of the Maryland Senate since 2004, representing Carroll County
and Howard County

Widely viewed as a moderate, Kittleman frequently mediates between the liberal and conservative factions in the party. In 2010 Senator Kittleman defeated Jim Adams by a wide margin in the general election, he faced no primary opposition. Kittleman was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1988 and was an associate with Smith, Somerville & Case, 1988–91 (legal assistant, 1984–88) and a partner with Herwig & Humphreys, LLP from 1996 to 2003 (associate, 1991–96).
