Allard Baird

Allard Baird is the former general manager
of the Kansas City Royals
. He now works for the Boston Red Sox
as vice president, player personnel, serving under general manager Ben Cherington
. He joined Boston in 2006 as an assistant to the general manager after his firing in Kansas City and later was named vice president and director of professional scouting.
Baird grew up in Rochester, New Hampshire
, and spent 18 years in the Royals organization, starting as the hitting coach for Class A Appleton of the Midwest League.
