, England
. The school has over 1,690 pupils.
Allerton Grange is a multi-cultural school, with over 80% of GCSE students achieving grade C or above.
A new school building opened in autumn 2009, although with a smaller capacity than the number of students who attend the school. Therefore to accommodate the excess students, some classes are being taught in outer area called 'pods' or 'corridors' within the learning areas of the certain subject. In response to this, the school is gradually reducing the intake of students with each year. The school recently became a specialist art school.
The current school was formed in 1992 with the merger of Allerton Grange Middle School and Allerton Grange High School both of which pre-existed on the same site. The new Allerton Grange School continued to use the buildings of the previous schools until the school was rebuilt in 2009.
The original buildings were built in the 1950s (Middle School) and 1960s (High School)and were well equipped with a swimming pool
and full size athletic track. The new buildings however offer none of these facilities. The demolition of the old school buildings is now complete.
