Alpha Nu Omega
Encyclopedia
Alpha Nu Omega is a national Greek letter organization
founded in 1988 that comprises both a fraternity and sorority under one Constitution
. The Constitution mandates that both branches of ANQ are Christian social Greek letter organizations
.
.
The vision was to create both a Fraternity and Sorority bound by one Constitution, which was promulgated by the founding brothers, founding sisters, and "Visionary Founder" Shirley K. Russell.
In October 1989, the organization inducted its first line consisting of one brother and six sisters. The second line for the sisters was held in the fall of 1990. The sisters increased their membership by five.
In the Spring of 1991 the entire Alpha Nu Omega Family met and decided to become a non-hazing organization. They adopted an intake curriculum now known as the Orientation Process. This decision led to the rapid addition of membership.
Alpha Nu Omega, Inc. is not a part of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and retains its separation from these organizations in several ways. Besides academic excellence, community service and leadership, Alpha Nu Omega, Inc. puts a high emphasis on Christian ministry and spirituality.

Original sin is, according to a Christian theological doctrine, humanity's state of sin resulting from the Fall of Man. This condition has been characterized in many ways, ranging from something as insignificant as a slight deficiency, or a tendency toward sin yet without collective guilt, referred...
