living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.1% were non-families. 22.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.07 and the average family size was 3.64.
In the town the population was spread out with 38.8% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 20.2% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 10.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 26 years. For every 100 females there were 85.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.7 males.

History
The town was settled in the 1930s as a central location for a new area high school. The school was finished in 1935 and named Altamont, combining the names of the area villages of AltonahAltonah, Utah
