The Amarillo National Bank (ANB) is a financial institution serving the city of Amarillo, Texas
, and is family-owned and operated.
ANB was founded in 1892 (five years after the founding of the city) and was purchased by Benjamin Taliaferro (B.T.) Ware in 1909. The Ware family has managed ANB for over 115 years and in its fifth generation, a rare feat in Texas where many banks have been purchased by out of state owners.
As of the third quarter of 2011, ANB reports having $9.6 billion in assets. ANB claims to have the most deposits of any financial institution in Amarillo since 1987, a major accomplishment considering that ANB competes with several out-of-state bank companies. According to Ag Lender magazine, ANB is Texas' largest independent cattle lender.
ANB operates 24 branch locations and over 100 automated teller machine
