 tribe), Mexicans, Outlaws or Settlers. The objective is to settle the western frontier. Each civilization has specific abilities which influence the strategy to be chosen. Multiplayer-gaming (up to 8 players) is supported. As in the similar Age of Empires, workers gather resources to buy military units and new buildings. The game features various scenarios.

Expansions

There is only one expansion pack, called "America Expansion Pack" (or "A*M*E*R*I*C*A Expansion Pack") in the USA and "America: Add-on" in Europe, and was equally released in 2001.
It features two new missions for each of the four factions from the original game, as well as a new unit, and a new building. It has improved graphics and AI and GameSpy online support, and also a level editor.
