He scored for Preston North End on a trial against Wigan Athletic in a 3-1 defeat, with a superb volley in pre-season. Upon the Blackburn squad numbers being announced for the new season, Linganzi was omitted, further fuelling speculation that the player would be available for a loan or transfer.
