Ampeg V Series

The Ampeg V series was an array of tube amplifiers originally released during Magnavox
's acquisition of the company in 1970 and produced until MTI's acquisition of Magnavox in 1980. The majority of the V series consisted of guitar amps
in both head and cabinet and combo amplifier configurations. One model of the V series have been reissued by the current Ampeg
company.
Ampeg also added a solid-state bass amplifier to the line, the V-6B, which was sold with a 2-15" cabinet and rated at 240W.
The V-4 was reissued for a period in the 90's-00's by Ampeg under its SLM ownership as the V-4R. Conceptually similar to the original (100W, 12ax7 preamp section and four 6L6's in the power amp section) it is nonetheless both electronically and cosmetically distinct from its ancestor.

V Series Amplifiers
- VT-22: 100W, 2-12" guitar combo amplifier with reverb (1970–1980)
- V-4: 100W guitar amplifier head with reverb and 4-12" cabinet (1970–1980)
- V-4B: 100W bass amplifier head (with bass 'q' switch instead of treble) and 2-15" cabinet (1971–1980)
- V-3: 55W guitar amplifier head with 4-12" cabinet (1970–1971) (redesign of the B-25)
- V-2: 60W guitar head with reverb and ported 4-12" cabinet (1971–1980)
- VT-40: 60W, 4-10" guitar combo amplifier with reverb (1971–1980)
- V-9: 300W guitar amplifier head with reverb, distortion and 9-10" cabinet (1975–1980)
