 before transferring to Iowa after his freshman year. Woolridge ended his career as Iowa's all-time assist leader, he has since been passed by Jeff Horner

. In his senior season, Woolridge averaged 20.2 points and 6.0 assists per game and was the first player to ever lead the Big Ten in both scoring and assists in the same season. He was named first team All-Big Ten and third team All-American by the Associated Press.

 and decided to play professionally overseas in Turkey. He has since played professionally in France, Greece and Italy as well. Woolridge has been invited to some NBA training camps since his time in Turkey and also played for the Asheville Altitude of the NBDL in 2002 and 2003. The closest he has ever come to playing in the NBA was probably in 2000 when Andre was invited to participate in training camp for the Denver Nuggets

. However, Woolridge was waived before the season started.

Woolridge played high school basketball at Omaha Benson where he graduated in 1992. That year Woolridge's Benson Bunny team won the Nebraska Class A State Championship. Woolridge scored 50 points in the title game versus Hastings High School.
