Andrew Marriner is a British classical
clarinettist and the son of the famed conductor Neville Marriner
. He was a boy chorister in the Choir of King's College, Cambridge
. In 1968, he joined the National Youth Orchestra
, and eventually pursued studies at Oxford University. He then left Oxford and moved to Hanover, Germany, where he studied with Hans Deinzer
. He is currently the principal clarinettist of the London Symphony Orchestra
and the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields. He is also a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music
