footballer, currently playing for Tottenham Hotspur

. On 22 August he scored a wonder goal, having run 70 yards past three Yeovil players and side-stepping another before blasting past the goalkeeper. At the end of August, Townsend's loan at Orient was extended until 31 December, and he then returned to White Hart Lane.
On 14 January 2010, Townsend was signed on loan to the MK Dons until the end of the season. Since then Townsend has been recalled by Tottenham due to injuries.
On 12 August 2010, Townsend signed on a season-long loan for Ipswich Town
. He made his debut for Ipswich against Burnley on 14 August, scoring his first goal with a header against Swansea on 4 December. The loan spell was ended two weeks later. On January 20, 2011, Watford confirmed Townsend had joined them on loan till the end of the season.
On 9 January 2011, Townsend made his Spurs debut scoring & being voted Man of the Match in a 3rd round FA Cup tie at White Hart Lane against Charlton Athletic

On 22 January 2011, Townsend made his Watford debut away at Cardiff City. Watford terminated the loan on 23 February 2011 just one month into the season long loan.
On Monday March the 7th 2011 Townsend signed a loan deal to take him to Millwall until the end of the season. He scored a crucial goal against Coventry City from 20 yards out, to equalise the game to 1-1. The game was later lost 2-1.

Townsend played three times for the England Under-16's between 2006 and 2007, making his debut in a 1–1 draw away with Wales Under-16's on the 20 October 2006. His last appearance for the Under-16's came in a 2–0 away loss to Germany Under-16 on 9 April 2007.
Townsend made his Under-17 debut in a 6–0 win over Northern Ireland Under-17's on 29 August 2007 scoring twice. He went on to make 6 appearances for the under-17's between 2007 and 2008. His last appearance came in a 0–0 draw with Portugal Under-17's on 5 February 2008.
