Angela Ahrendts is an American businessperson and CEO of Burberry, the iconic British luxury brand. Headquartered in London the brand has built a global reputation for pioneering design and innovation. By exploring unique brand innovations such as Burberry Acoustic, Art of the Trench and 3D hologram runway shows, Burberry continues to connect heritage with cutting-edge technology and digital media.
Today, Burberry is ranked in the FTSE 50, with annual revenues of $2.5bn. In 2011, Burberry was named the 4th fastest-growing brand in the world by both Interbrand and WPP/BrandZ, and the 13th most innovative company globally by Fast Company magazine . Prior to joining Burberry Angela was Executive Vice President at Liz Claiborne Inc., where she joined the executive team in 1998. During her tenure, she oversaw the Contemporary, Casual, Bridge and Menswear businesses, comprising more than twenty brands and representing 40% of total company revenues. She previously spent six years as President of Donna Karan International.
Angela was born and raised in Indiana. She acquired her Merchandising and Marketing degree from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, from where she also received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree in 2010.
