This leads to Luke Foster (Murray Bartlett) visiting her and revealing himself to be her half-brother. Mark later found out he was a con artist, previously trying to steal Fiona's money, leaving Annalise devastated.
Annalise and Gaby end their feud, and are involved in a plane crash – both survive. She and Mark begin dating, they become engaged. On their wedding day Mark left her, then moved away to become a priest.

) turns up and reveals to Annalise that she is her half-sister. With this her father Tony Hartman (Michael Carman) comes into her life, they struggle to bond as she cannot deal with the fact he is a drag queen
, though they later reconcile and he gives her money, the police later reveal he is a con artist. She then sleeps with Stonefish Rebecchi (Anthony Engelman), after Sam finds out their attraction has been building for months, he decides to end their relationship. With this Annalise leaves, despite Jo's pleas for her to stay. Sam later joins her.
In 2005, Annalise returned to Erinsborough
to show a documentary film about Ramsay Street
. She also revealed that she had married Sam five years earlier. She was a fairly successful and popular filmmaker, Barmaid, Coffee Shop
worker and was friends with Lou Carpenter
, a British satellite broadcasting company profiled 25 characters of which they believed were the most memorable in the series history. Annalise is in the list and brand her as a 'man magnet' stating: "Man magnet Annalise liked her men dark, tall and plentiful. After casting sessions, actress Kimberley Davies received the role. In 1996 Davies decided to quit the serial to pursue other projects. In 2005 Davies was approached by producers to return for the 20th anniversary, Davies was initially undecided on returning, citing recently having a baby, she later made the decision to return, of this Davies stated: "Then I thought back over my whole time there and remembered what a fun, positive experience it was. So I decided why not, it’ll be great to see everyone again."Characterisation
In her early days Annalise had manipulative tendencies and was used to getting what she wanted. In 2005 upon Annalise's return Davies spoke of how Annalise's personality has progressed stating: "Annalise is more settled, she’s still got her conniving ways about her and knows how to be a bitch. But she’s happy in her personal life – she’s married to Sam and very much in love with him, and very happy in her career.
