About the AVCCD

 main campus in Lancaster and a leased site in Palmdale, with a combined population of more than 14,000 students. The district serves the area's two largest cities of Lancaster and Palmdale, as well as the unincorporated towns of Acton, Lake Elizabeth, Lake Los Angeles, Leona Valley, Littlerock, Quartz Hill and Rosamond. The community college district is governed by a locally-elected Board of Trustees consisting of five members serving four-year terms, plus a student trustee elected annually by members of the student body.

Palmdale Campus

The district plans to construct a full-size campus in Palmdale to better serve residents of the southern Antelope Valley. It has purchased 60 acres (242,811.6 m²) of land for the campus on 25th Street East, south of Avenue S, for the new campus. In the meantime, the district maintains a leased site at 1529 E. Palmdale Boulevard, in Palmdale. The College District will be able to begin construction on the Palmdale campus when the enrollment at the leased facility reaches 500 students. As of May 2008, the temporary campus has an enrollment of 470.

CSUB-Antelope Valley

The AVCCD has a partnership with California State University Bakersfield-Antelope Valley to offer bachelor's and master's degree programs at a site on the Antelope Valley College Lancaster campus.
