Research

Anthony Cerami has led research programs into genetic, metabolic and infectious diseases, with the goal of translating scientific discovery into clinically important products. Among the successes of his approach are: glycated hemoglobin to monitor diabetic control, anti-tumour necrosis factor-alpha therapies to treat inflammatory diseases such as Crohn's disease and rheumatoid arthritis, and, recently, tissue protective cytokines to safely treat devastating diseases and injuries. He is the recipient the Luft Award in Diabetes and the Frederick Banting
